Noo's Monthly CareTips
One of the most common problems, particularly in older dogs, is
lameness due to joint stiffness.
With ageing, even the most healthy joints are likely to develop
some degree of arthritic change; and joints that have been previously
damaged or diseased are more susceptible to osteoarthritis. This
means that while many old dogs suffer from joint pain and stiffness
due to degenerative joint disease, so too do many younger dogs who
have had predisposing problems.
Anti-inflammatory painkilling medication can be extremelv helpful
in most cases, and regulating the dog's weight and exercise is also
very important.
